13 AUG 2021 - 3D Printing - Voxelab Aquila X2
Today, the Voxelab Aquila X2 arrived. Tomorrow, I will assemble it, test it and begin my venture into budget FDM printing. I have a 2 kg spool of Voxelab black PLA to use for printing. I ordered a 2 kg spool of white PLA. If I get the Aquila sorted out this weekend, I will attempt to print a couple of spiral chess pieces to see how they turn out.

3D Printing
Recently purchased a used 3D Resin Printer. The printer actually prints very detailed objects considering its looow cost. Initially I printed a couple of test prints to see what the printer can do. After doing that I have printed a variety of things that are just cool to print.

22 July 2020 - 33 gallon craftsman compressor
Re-installed the starting cap and run cap for the motor and then lightly epoxied the housing those components are attached to, to the motor. So that works and that cover does not come loose and the unit works like it should. Still need to upload a pic of the start cap so that I have a record of the manufacturer and the part number.

28 SEtp 2019 - Action Camera
I finally decided to buy a go pro clone. The price for the camera and kit was $30. Its a Vantop Moment 3 camera with accessories and case.
After using it for a few days, I have found it to be a worthwhile purchase.
Although the kit has a variety of mounting hardware, I needed a magnetic mount.
So I modified one of the stick on mounts that is a two piece unit. One piece is the base and has the tape and a 1/4-20 threaded insert, the other is a slide in clip that connects to the base mount and has the mount for the camera case.
I had a harbor freight 1.5" circular magnet that I used to hang tools and whatever else on it. I modified it so that I could fasten it to the stick on mount base with a 1/4-20 bolt, cut to fit.
I did a few checks to see how it mounts with the magnetic base and it looks good and seems ok in the driveway so I will do a few test drives and see how it goes.
